Infertility Rhymes!

Thanks to PCOS, I’m still waiting on my period to arrive and get this show on the road!  Trying to conceive (ttc) requires a lot of waiting doesn’t it?   Waiting to see doctors.  Waiting for test results.   Of course there’s also that elusive two-week wait when all hope is put on the line.

There are also a lot of emotions in the mix.  Apprehension about taking such a big step perhaps.  Or great joy when that BFP is finally yours.  Then there’s the fear and concern when cycle after cycle only produces negative pregnancy tests.  There is the sadness, the anger, and the supreme disappointment when a cycle fails.  And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!  It is enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed.

So while I wait, I want to have a little fun.  It sure beats driving myself crazy trying to will on a period that just doesn’t seem to want to arrive!  On my blog over the weekend I posted some “Infertility Limericks” for a bit of fun.  It’s my silly way of looking at some of the crazy things we do (and deal with!) when we’re trying to have a baby.  Hopefully these will give you a bit of a smile.  Think of a limerick of your own?  Why not comment below and share it with us all.

No matter where you are on your ttc journey and no matter where you’re at this cycle, I hope this gives you a bit of a lift.

Thoroughly checking all the TP,
Oh goodness, is that spotting I see?!
If my period’s here,
May as well have a beer.
In fact, just order me three!

***
Oh where can my dear husband be?
It’s ovulation day here for me!
I don’t mean to be a pest,
But this is no time to rest!
It’s time to get us that BFP!

***

Clomid moods and hot flashes, oh my!
Infertility can just make you cry,
Of this poking and prodding I’m not fond,
Have you seen the ultrasound wand?!
And all this blood work is bleeding me dry!

***
Feel like you’re at the end of your rope?
Dear Conceivers do not give up hope!
Baby dreams for you and me,
And a healthy pregnancy,
We’ll all help each other cope!
