Ready or Not

Kid Practice

I’ve heard somewhere that animals are great for calming the emotions and relieving stress. I know that’s the case in my house. When I’m crying about something or another my dog always comes over and licks my face right at the perfect moment and cheers me up. I’ve heard of some couples say their dog …

Lessons Learned

Well, I got the drilling done. It was nice to get that second opinion because this dentist said instead of having 13 cavities I BARELY had 4. So lesson learned: If it seems fishy, get a second opinion.

Anyway, that was the final major item on my checklist. So here I am, anxious and ready to procreate! But there’s still one thing… That little September goal. I originally pushed for July or August but my better half wasn’t budging, so here I am waiting and trying to keep myself occupied. I’m almost tired of reading fertility books. Now I’m just ready to put them to use.

My Check List

I’ve never been more excited to go to the dentist in my LIFE.—And not just GO to the dentist, but get my teeth drilled! Yes! Drill baby drill!! No, I’m not a masochist, it’s just one of the last things on my “to do” list before we start trying to make a baby.

Yea, it would be nice to travel across Europe, or if I was making twice as much money, but I’ve realized that some things on my Baby Bucket List can wait, or be accomplished after a baby—And some… Well, they’re just plain not that important to me anymore.

Husband Drama

Ok now let’s be honest. Husbands—Can’t live with them, can’t live without them. Luckily for me, most of the time I’m don’t fall into the latter category. But I must admit—it still drives me a little crazy seeing the way he squirms when I say the word “baby.”

Now I normally don’t throw him under the bus in my blog posts, but this topic was bound to come up sometime. I admit it. There are a few things that are keeping me from starting to try to have a baby right this moment. For one—I want to get a few cavities filled first (which I have an appointment for next week) and two—My husband.

Do I Know Too Much?

Written by Jennifer    PDF Print E-mail
When I went off birth control in April I decided I would learn more about my cycle so that along with my non-hormonal form of protection, I could avoid doing the deed on days I could be fertile. When I told my GYN I was going off birth control and that my husband and I may try to start a family soon she said it may take a few months for my uterus lining to get built back up to normal, and for my cycles to regulate again.

April and May were easy months to get through. I was 26 days right on the money. The next month I thought maybe I was going back to a normal cycle—28 days when I was a few days late. Since I’ve been charting my basal body temperature I knew I had ovulated late. It came right at 29 days. I thought I was “regulated” again, but now this month—I’m on day 23 and I’m pretty sure I still haven’t ovulated.
